Kevin McCasky: Three Reasons to Get Involved with Your Community

Kevin McCasky has been involved with his community for many years. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. He then launched his career. He was elected twice as Jefferson County Assessor (1999-2005), and elected twice as Jefferson County Commissioner between January of 2005 and February of 2011. He worked with the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation as well. He enjoys staying active in his community.

Getting involved can be a great way to help others. In 2009, Mr. McCasky received the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Economic Development Council of Colorado. He was interested in supporting his state as well as his county. Staying active in the community can be a great way to discover opportunities to help the residents of your state.

Another reason to get involved with the community is to build your knowledge. If you are interested in learning more about economics, job growth, or another issue in your state, you can spend some time volunteering. Working with different organizations can be a great way to learn.
