Kevin McCasky was elected to the post of Jefferson County Commissioner twice between 2005 and 2011, serving as on the three-member Board of Commissioners for more than six years. McCasky was honored to have had the opportunity to serve the public interest, as well as to help provide oversight and governance of one of the fastest growing areas in the state of Colorado.

As County Commissioner, Kevin McCasky was responsible for upholding and pursuing the mission, vision and values of the county, and to provide the leadership and decision-making needed to attain County goals and objectives. McCasky’s notable accomplishments over the course of two terms include:

— the leadership of multiple inter-governmental initiatives to repair and restore once-damaged relationships between officials of different jurisdictions, as well as to establish shared focus on common goals and objectives.

— the appropriation of the County’s $500 million annual budget.

— the creation and encouragement of a Citizen Budget Review Panel to develop and deliver recommendations for cuts in the operating budget, as well as to review and evaluate future capital construction needs throughout the County.

— the initiation and creation of the Jefferson Parkway Public Highway Authority (JHPPA) in order to close the C470 loop around the metro Denver region.
