Kevin McCasky: Economic Development in Jefferson County

Kevin McCasky is a professional who is interested in economic development in Jefferson County, Colorado. He worked as the County Commissioner of Jefferson County between January of 2005 and 2011. He states that he was “responsible for ordinance and regulatory rule making, general policy decisions, fiscal and budgetary approval and financial oversight.”He worked with the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation as well. Mr. McCasky enjoys following the growth of Jefferson County, Colorado.

Jefferson County is the fourth most populated county in Colorado. According to its webpage, Jefferson County is the “Gateway to the Rocky Mountains.” There are many businesses located there.

Jefferson County Economic County Development Corporation’s mission statement is “to strengthen the economic vitality of Jefferson County through the creation, retention, and expansion of primary jobs.”The county says it is “seeing a dramatic rise in business activity.”Along with the rest of the state, Jefferson County is growing steadily.

According to the 2017 Colorado Business Economic Outlook that was created by the University of Colorado at Boulder, industries such as healthcare, tourism, and construction will grow and begin hiring. The study estimates that the state of Colorado will gain more than sixty thousand jobs in the next year. Jefferson County will most likely grow along with the other counties in the state. Kevin McCasky is interested in studying Jefferson County’s economic growth.
